Jute is a long, soft and glossy fibre produced from jute-plant.  Next to cotton, jute is the most widely used natural fibre which is mainly used for sacking, burlap, and twine.  The color of the fibre is usually golden.  Jute fibre is often called hessian.  Jute fabrics made of jute fibre are called hessian cloth or burlap.
